Most of Taste of Tulum Fits Between Km 7.5 and Km 8.3 of the Beach Road

  • November 5, 2026

Taste of Tulum runs from October 28 to November 27, 2026. Its promoters list more than 50 partner restaurants, bars and cocinas, more than 100 dishes made only for these 31 days, and more than 20 tastings, dinners and pop-ups. Spread across a town the size of Tulum, that sounds like a citywide event. Its home base is much smaller. Four of the five host hotels sit between Km 7.5 and Km 8.3 of Carretera Tulum–Boca Paila, so most of the festival happens along 800 meters of the beach road.

For people who live along that road, that changes how the festival works in practice. By publish day, half the festival is over and two themed weeks remain. The rest of this post covers what's still on, where it happens, and which pass makes sense with about two weeks left.

Host Hotels by Kilometer

The festival's host hotels page names the Ahau Collection and five properties hosting this year's edition. Each hotel's own site gives its kilometer marker:

Host venue Address on the beach road How the festival describes it
Ahau Tulum, home of Kapok Km 7.5 Handcrafted beachfront sanctuary
Aldea Canzul Km 7.5 Beachfront villas with private pools on the restaurant strip
Casa Ganesh Km 7.6 Intimate boutique hotel among palms
Alaya Tulum Km 8.3 Jungle-meets-sea hotel with treehouse rooms and a beachfront yoga shala
Villa Pescadores Km 0.5 Rustic, eco-friendly hotel on Playa Pescadores

Ahau Tulum and Aldea Canzul share the Km 7.5 marker, and Casa Ganesh is one tenth of a kilometer further south. From there to Alaya at Km 8.3 is 800 meters on the same road. Villa Pescadores is the only host away from this cluster, about 7 kilometers north at Km 0.5 in the Zona Hotelera Norte, on the beach the hotel names Playa Pescadores.

The festival's favorite-restaurants page features Kapok, a wood-fired Mexican kitchen by the sea. Ahau Collection places it inside Ahau Tulum, at the center of the Km 7.5 cluster. The only other restaurant named on that page is Pizza Paz, a wood-fired sourdough spot in La Veleta. That makes it the clearest town-side stop on the festival's own short list.

The Same Stretch Hosted Art With Me in 2018

The festival is set on these properties for a reason. The Ahau Collection lists Ahau Tulum, Alaya Tulum, Aldea Canzul, Casa Ganesh and Villa Pescadores as hotels in its collection. According to Art With Me's founders page, David Graziano designed Ahau Tulum and founded Art With Me in 2018. Matthew Caines is named as managing partner.

That first Art With Me was a four-day festival. Forbes reported in June 2018 that it took place at several Tulum venues, including Ahau Tulum, Alaya and Villa Pescadores. The Art With Me homepage now lists Art With Me Tulum under past events, with Taste of Tulum featured at the top of the page.

The team that began with four days of art, dance and play on this part of the beach road is now running a 31-day food and drink program from the same hotels. Ahau Tulum, Alaya and Villa Pescadores hosted the 2018 edition and are hosting again this year.

What's Left From Publish Day On

The festival homepage lays out four themed weeks. The first two are over by now:

  1. A Celebration of Spirits, the opening week from October 28, which overlapped with Día de Muertos.
  2. Authentic Mexican Cuisine, the first full week of November.
  3. International Delights, the theme for the middle of the month and the week that's running on publish day.
  4. Gratitude Week, which closes the festival on November 27 and is described as "honoring the people, places & cultures that nourish us all."

The Día de Muertos ceremonies that featured in the launch materials were part of the opening stretch. What's left is the global-menu week and the closing week. The festival also says new offers will be "added throughout the festival so there's always something new to enjoy."

The Taste of Tulum homepage describes its setting as "beach dinners at sunset to fire dancers under Mayan stars." With most hosts sitting between Km 7.5 and Km 8.3, a beach dinner in that cluster is close to home for anyone living nearby.

Pricing a Pass With Half the Month Gone

The pass page offers three ways in, at these listed prices:

  • Day pass, $20 USD: full access to the chosen day's offers.
  • Week pass, $75 USD: the dinners, sessions and workshops of one themed week.
  • Full-festival pass, $200 USD: all four weeks.

Every pass includes the live monthly schedule, welcome drinks, appetizers and desserts, admission to ceremonies and special dinners, and member discounts at participating restaurants and bars.

On November 12, the festival has 16 days left of its 31. Here is how the listed prices compare:

If you plan to go out Cheapest listed option Cost
One or two evenings Day passes $20 to $40
Four or more evenings in one themed week Week pass $75, under the $80 for four day passes
Regularly through both remaining weeks Two week passes $150
Same, with a full pass Full-festival pass $200, which still pays for the two weeks already gone

At the listed prices, the full-festival pass made the most sense on October 28. Someone living near Km 7.5 who expects to come back several times in one week gets better value from a week pass. Someone planning one dinner at Kapok and maybe one more night is better off with day passes. The pass page has also shown lower promotional figures, so confirm the final amount at checkout before choosing.

Before You Buy

The pass runs on your phone. After checkout on the pass page, your QR pass arrives by email. According to the festival's How It Works page, you show that code at a participating venue to claim the offer. A few practical notes:

  • The schedule is in the app. Dated dinners, tastings and pop-ups appear in the live schedule that comes with the pass, and the site points to an interactive map for finding venues.
  • Plan around the cluster. Ahau Tulum, Aldea Canzul and Casa Ganesh are all within a tenth of a kilometer of each other, and Alaya is 800 meters further south, so you can visit several hosts on foot in one evening. Getting to Villa Pescadores at Km 0.5 is its own trip up the road.
  • Look past the hotels. The festival's other-offers page also lists I Am Love Retreat and Tulum Munchies. Pizza Paz in La Veleta is on the favorites list for nights when you're in town.
  • Watch for new offers. The festival says offers are added through the month, so the line-up for Gratitude Week may look different from what's posted in mid-November.

The festival ends on Friday, November 27, at the end of Gratitude Week.

A month of dinners at Km 7.5 is a good way to see how the beach road feels with neighbors at the table.
